Joe Mauer To Rehab With Kernels

Cedar Rapids, IA – The Minnesota Twins have announced that infielder Joe Mauer and RHP Ricky Nolasco will make rehab stints with the Kernels on Tuesday, August 5th.

Mauer is scheduled to be in Cedar Rapids on Monday and will take batting practice with the team. If all goes well, he is expected to play with the Kernels on Tuesday, August 5th against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.

Nolasco is scheduled to make a rehab start with the Kernels on Tuesday as well.

The Kernels will open the gates for Monday’s game at 3:00 pm so that fans may watch batting practice. Gates will also open at 3:00 pm on Tuesday for BP. Game time both nights is set for 6:35 pm.

Joe Mauer is the younger brother of Kernels manager, Jake Mauer. Both Mauer’s played in the Midwest League with Quad Cities in 2002.
