Riots After Teen is Killed By Officer

FERGUSON, MO (CBS2/FOX28) - Angry protests turned into looting Sunday night and lasted early into Monday morning – that’s after a Missouri teen was shot and killed by a police officer.
On Saturday afternoon, investigators say a police officer was on patrol when he went up to two people on the street; one of them was 18-year-old Michael Brown.
Officers say somehow a fight began and one of the men pushed the officer when he was trying to get out of his squad car.
That's when the officer got out of his car and shot Brown.
Witnesses say the officer shot him several times, even after brown had put his hands up.
The situation escalated Sunday night when protesters tore through the streets looting stores and damaging squad cars as officers in riot gear tried to break up crowds.
Meanwhile, Brown's family is still looking for answers.
The officers’ name is not being released and he has been taken off the job until an investigation is complete.
The investigation is being handled by the Saint Louis County Police Department.
