UI Refunds Ticket Sales From Failed Lottery

IOWA CITY, IA (CBS2/FOX28) - The University of Iowa is offering students a refund after a botched lottery plan.
Last week, the University told students that if they buy season football tickets, they'd be entered to win prizes like Hy-Vee gift cards, books, and the largest prize; free tuition for a year.
On Wednesday they suspended the promotion because of legal concerns.
During the promotion, around 800 orders came in for tickets and now the university is offering a refund for students who don't really want the tickets but wanted to win the free education.
A  UI spokesman says the school just wants to do the right thing.
They say they still want to hold the raffle, but will make sure it's legal before anything is announced.
