Ames Ebola Vaccine Ready for Human Testing

AMES, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- A drug developer in Ames says it has enough doses of a possible vaccine for the deadly Ebola virus to start human testing.
New Link Genetics says the vaccine has been 100% effective in preventing deadly infections in primates.
It acts quickly enough to show effective animals that received a typically lethal dose of Ebola.
The Defense Department gave the go-ahead for human trials because there are not enough doses of the current vaccine they are using to fight the illness in Africa.
