ICCSD Trying to Place Student Sex Offender
IOWA CITY, IA (CBS2/FOX28) – The Iowa City Community School Board is trying to figure out where to put a student who has registered as a sex offender.
The superintendent says that by law, they have to educate any school-age child living within the district, regardless of whether he or she is a sex offender.
Right now, he says he’s not sure what school to put the child in.
The superintendent says federal statues mean he can’t release much about the situation including the students name or the offense.
The school board will talk about the situation during a closed-door meeting on Tuesday.
