15 Minutes, 2 Robberies in Marion

MARION, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- Police in Marion are asking for the public's help in solving two early morning gas station robberies that happened within 15-minutes of each other.

The first robbery happened just before 2:30 at the Road Ranger on 8th Avenue.

An employee says a man wearing a gray sweatshirt and jeans walked into the store and demanded money before running off with nothing.

Then, just minutes later, a second robbery took place at the Kum and Go on Blairs Ferry Road.

Witnesses there say that suspect matched the description of the suspect in the first robbery and that he demanded money before getting away with cash and cigarettes.

Marion police now ask anyone with information about the crimes to call them or Linn County Crime Stoppers.
