A "Major Step Forward" in Iraq

BAGHDAD, (CBS2/FOX28) - Iraqi and Kurdish forces are continuing to go head to head in their battle against Islamic militants.
Iraq says they have recaptured the country's largest dam from Islamic militants with help from dozens of U.S. airstrikes.
On Monday, President Obama called the move a "major step forward."
He said if the dam had been taken over by militants and breached it could have put U.S. troops in Baghdad in serious danger.
Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands of people in the country have been displaced due to the constant fighting.
In the past two weeks, families have been forced to leave their homes and set up in temporary shelters.
Monday, the president said that U.S. forces will continue to fight Islamic militants in Iraq for as long as they’re needed.
