Kid Captains Chosen for Hawkeye Games

IOWA CITY, IA (CBS2/FOX28) - While it may not feel like it outside, football season is right around the corner, and this year two corridor kids will be hailed as Kid Captains during the Hawkeye season.
15 current and former patients at the UI Children’s Hospital have been chosen to serve as Kid Captains.
The program takes the children's inspirational stories and highlights one story each game.
A hospital spokesperson says the children chosen represent the strength and determination to battle all forms of illnesses.
Among the captains, two are from right here in the Corridor, 11-year-old Caitlyn Hill from Iowa City  will be honored during the Iowa-Northwestern game on November 1st and 9-year-old Matthew McCarthy from Marion will be honored during the Iowa-Purdue game on September 27th.
Iowa's first game is on August 30th against UNI.
