Moving the UI Marching Band

IOWA CITY, IA (CBS2/FOX28) - The sweet sounds of the University of Iowa’s marching band are now a little harder to hear.
On Thursday the band began rehearsing in a new 15-million dollar building.
The band used to play on a field along Park Road where each afternoon neighbors were able to get a taste of the football entertainment.
The nearly 250 musicians decided to move to an indoor rehearsal space because windy weather was putting them behind schedule.
That building, which is on the corner of Melrose and Mormon Trek, will also be used for sports teams’ practices when the weather becomes an issue.
