Fish-O-Rama Reels Them In

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) The Boys and Girls Club of Cedar Rapids has quite the fish story to tell as it caught a lot of help over the weekend.

At Robbins Lake in Cedar Rapids, Fish-O-Rama turned out to be a tremendous success reeling in more than $105,000.

More than 1,500 people turned out to cast their lines in hopes of winning a wide-array of prizes, including a brand new Toyota pickup truck.
But it wasnt exactly only the prizes that lured so many people in. For some they just look forward to the event each year.

"We started this as being a family thing and it's just wonderful," John Tursi of the Boys and Girls Club said. "One of the comments we hear all the time now is families schedule their vacations around Fish-O-Rama so they won't miss it and that's really what we wanted."

All of the money raised by Fish-O-Rama supports programs and services for Cedar Rapids youth.
