More Than One Billion Passwords Hacked

MOSCOW, RUSSIA (CBS2/FOX28) - Russian criminals may have pulled off the largest theft of internet information in history.
According to hold security the hackers stole more than one-billion internet user names and passwords.
Hold Security is a Milwaukee firm that uncovers online security breaches.
The CEO says that the attack was a new kind of threat that shot from computer to computer as a virus targeting hundreds of thousands of websites.
They're not releasing which sites because they say they want to keep some information confidential as they investigate.
The CEO says if they sell the information, more accounts could be violated.
Cyber security experts are pointing to this news as a reminder to users; change your password often and don't use the same password for multiple logins.
In other words, your email, banking, and social media log-ins should all be different.
