Iowa Workforce Agency under Scrutiny

DES MOINES, IA (CBS2/FOX28) - The Senate Government Oversight committee is looking into an Iowa agency that gives out unemployment.
E-mails show that Iowa’s Workforce Development Agency was paying people who didn't request benefits and when managers found that out they asked employees to keep quiet.
An agency spokesperson says 85 people who had already gotten benefits back in March got them the next week as well because of a computer problem.
Agency emails show that after the malfunction a manager emailed his staff telling them not to talk to anyone about what happened and to blame "technical difficulties."
The Oversight Committee is going to talk about the issue during hearings next week.
