Guilty Plea in Restroom Camera Case

DAVENPORT, IA (AP) - A man accused of video-recording girls in an eastern Iowa school restroom has pleaded guilty to a sexual exploitation charge.

29-year-old Ian Dishon Isabel entered the plea Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Davenport.

Isabel admitted that he planted video cameras in a girls' restroom at Hayes Elementary School, where he worked as a coordinator for the after-school Stepping Stones program. Authorities say he downloaded the videos he created onto his laptop.

Isabel also acknowledged that, while on the run from law enforcement, he dumped electronic equipment into the Mississippi River and attempted to hide from police in a state park near Quincy, Illinois. Police seized a laptop from his Davenport home on April 11.

Isabel's sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 20.
