Two Measures in Solon Special Election

SOLON, IA (CBS2/FOX28) - Residents in Solon can now get their ballots in for a Special Election.
The Solon Community School District is putting two measures up on a ballot.
One is a bond measure that would allow the district to spend more than $25 million on updating schools and adding a new middle school building.
The second is a ten-year tax increase that would go toward keeping district buildings and grounds updated over the next decade.
That tax would mean up to $1.34 would be taxed to residents for every thousand dollars of property they own.
You can cast your ballot early at the Johnson County Auditors Office between 7:45am and 5:30pm Monday through Friday or hit the polls during the election on September 9th.
