High-Speed Chase Ends in Urbandale

URBANDALE, IA (CBS2/FOX28) A high speed chase in Polk County ended with an officer's weapon accidently going off.
Officers say just before six Sunday night, someone called 911, and reported a reckless driver on Highway 141.
Police say they spotted the driver, 24-year-old Steven Schulte, on the highway in Grimes, going up to 80 MPH.
They say when they tried to pull him over he ran two red lights and swerved into oncoming traffic.
The chase finally ended on 100th street in Urbandale.
Officers say when they asked Schulte to get out of the car, he seemed oblivious to commands; the officers drew their weapons and the suspect ended surrendering.
Police say as one of the officers was putting his gun back into his holster; it went off, hitting the passenger door.
Nobody was hit.
Schulte was taken the hospital to be checked out, so far no word on what he'll be charged with.
