Ames Man Found Dead Near Crashed Motorcycle

HUXLEY, IA (AP) - An Iowa man has died in what authorities believe was a motorcycle crash.

The Story County Sheriff's Office says someone called authorities just after 5:30 a.m. Friday to report a man lying next to a crashed motorcycle in a ditch along Highway 69 north of Huxley in central Iowa.

Authorities arrived to find 55-year-old Robin Ratashak, of Ames, in the ditch.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.  The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Story County Sheriff's Office at 515-382-6566.
