Gov. Says Veteran Program Working

DES MOINES, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- Governor Terry Branstad says a new program is finding jobs for veterans across the state.
The Governor announced today that 23 veterans have gotten jobs through the Home Base Iowa program, which he signed into law this year.
The program is designed to make it easier for vets to transition into civilian jobs.
Branstad says Iowa's employment as a whole is growing, and he expects that trend to continue.
The next job fair for Iowa veterans will be held on Thursday in Davenport.
At least 35 employers are expected to attend.
