New Details In Murder Of Waterloo Woman

WATERLOO, IA (CBS2/FOX28) -- Search warrants filed by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation provide new details into the murder of a Waterloo woman, and details leading up to the arrest of her accused killer.

The documents say Crystal Gaffney's children told classmates they saw Shaun Hogan stab and kill their mother.

A friend of Hogan, Calvin Jones, says Hogan came to his house on July 9, the night after the murder, and saw a report on the ten o'clock news that police were looking for him. Jones says Hogan asked him for a ride out of state and a change of clothes, and he took the battery out of his cell phone so police could not track him.

Jones left the apartment the next morning, while Hogan was still sleeping. Jones told police Hogan was in the apartment, and there was a knife, axe, and machete in the apartment.
