Iowa Ethanol Plant Produces New Fuel

DES MOINES, IA (CBS2/FOX28) An Iowa plant is making leaps and bounds in the ethanol industry.
Farmer-owned Quad County Corn Processors will be the first plant in the Hawkeye State to make ethanol from something other than corn starch.
The new ethanol is made from corn kernel fiber and will be called cellulosic ethanol.
Decades of research have gone into this creation and production of the new fuel is only expected to grow.
Quad County Corn Processors, in Galva, Iowa and has the ability to make 35 million gallons of traditional ethanol on top of 2 million gallons of cellulosic ethanol per year.
