Hyundai Issues Recalls for Sonata Sedans

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (CBS2/FOX28) - Hyundai has issued two separate recalls involving its most popular sedan.

The automaker is recalling more than 883,000 Sonata sedans made between 2011 and 2014.

Hyundai says the transmission shift cable can detach from the shift lever pin.

The problem could cause the car to be in a different gear than shown on its dashboard.

The other recall involves 5,700, 2015 Sonatas because of a brake issue.

One or both of the front brake calipers can fracture due to a manufacturing error.

Hyundai say the vehicles should not be driven and need to be fixed immediately.
