Tipton Continues to Clean Up After Storms

 IA (CBS2/FOX28) - The city of Tipton is still cleaning up from the storms that rolled through  that damaged hundreds of trees.

At least 15 homes have trees that were damaged. More than 300 trees around the city were damaged.

Tipton City Council woman Dawn Siech says about 60 people have been volunteering as part of the city-wide clean-up effort.

"The community came out and they worked with each other, they were helping each other, to make sure everybody was able to get around," said Siech.

Cedar County has been declared a disaster area by governor Branstad

The city's 4th of July celebration will still go on as planned.
