Man Charged in Black Hawk Co. Shooting

HUDSON, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) - A Black Hawk County man now faces charges stemming from a shooting back in May.

Black Hawk County deputies say on May 31, 20-year-old Joshua Casey and a group of friends returned to a rural residence after a day of hunting when he pointed a shotgun at another hunter. The shotgun would then discharge and hit the other man in the area of the right shoulder.

The victim would have to be taken to a Waterloo hospital before being transferred to the UIHC in Iowa City, but would survive.

After a review, Sheriff's deputies would arrest Casey on Tuesday and charge him with reckless use of a fire arm.
