Accused Kidnapper Kristen Smith Trial

MADISON, WI (CBS2/FOX28) - The woman accused of kidnapping an infant in Wisconsin and leaving him at a gas station here in Iowa heads to trial Monday.
Police say in February, Kristen Smith took her nephew from his home and ended up leaving him in subzero temps outside a gas station in West Branch in a plastic container. 
On February 6th, 5-day-old Kayden was reported missing by his family, Smith had been visiting the family and was also gone that morning.
Later that day, police found Smith in her car but Kayden was not there.
The following morning, West Branch police found baby Kayden in a plastic tub outside of a gas station; miraculously, he was okay.
Kayden is healthy and back with his family.
Smiths trial is being held in Madison and if convicted she faces a maximum of life in prison.
