Marion Group Gets Times Square Ad Space
MARION, IA (CBS2/FOX28) -- Marion-based Trees Forever is getting a great opportunity to spread the word about supporting tree planting in national forests and storm-damaged communities.
The non-profit is getting free ad-time on a large electronic billboard in New York City's Times Square. New York-based media group, Neutron Group, is providing free 10-second spots running 18 times daily from July to September.
Trees Forever CEO Shannon Ramsey says the space became available because of a change in the scheduling of an ad campaign, and Neutron Group wanted to offer it to a worthy nonprofit.
Donations resulting from the campaign will support tree planting in national forests and tree replacement in storm-damaged communities. Ms. Ramsay said a key part of the campaign is to underscore the importance of trees in providing pollen for bees, which contribute to the pollination of some $15 billion worth of crops annually.
Trees Forever worked with de Novo Alternative Marketing to create the 10-second public service advertisement for the Times Square billboard. You can see the ad by clicking here.
