Shooting Suspect Faces Weapons Charges

WATERLOO, IA (CBS2/FOX28) - A Waterloo man is in jail after trying to run from police.

Around 8:30 Tuesday night, officers from the Violent Crime Apprehension Team went to the 700-block of Logan Ave. to talk to a man connected to a Monday shooting.

When they got there, they say Juwon Culpepper, 20 tried to run from officers.

Police used a Taser on him and found that he was carrying a revolver.

They say he is a suspect in a shooting on the same block just a day before.

They say multiple shots were fired into the air.

Culpepper is in the Black Hawk County Jail and faces charges of interference with official acts involving a firearm and two counts of carrying weapons.
He is being held on $9,000 dollar bond.
