Branstad Declares Disaster Proclamation

DES MOINES, IA (CBS2/FOX28) - As Wednesdays storms roll in, the Governor will be hitting the road to check out some of the storm damage we saw over the last couple of days.
On Tuesday, Governor Branstad issued disaster proclamations for Cedar, Lyon, Plymouth, Pocahontas and Sioux Counties.
That means state money can be used to respond and recover from storms and flooding on both public and private land.
So far, money has been used for water pumps and thousands of sandbags to keep flooding at bay.
On Wednesday, the Governor and Director of Iowa Homeland Security will head to those counties to see just how much damage was done.
