Johnson County Seeking Input on Courthouse

JOHNSON COUNTY, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- The Johnson County Board of Supervisors will hold two public meetings to gather input regarding the design of a proposed county courthouse annex. Last week, the Board of Supervisors approved a resolution placing a $30.8 million bond referendum on the November ballot for the project. A preliminary floor plan calls for a three-story building that would house the Clerk of Court's office, six new courtrooms, judges chambers, jury rooms, conference rooms, and storage. The proposed annex would be located adjacent to the current courthouse and connected by an enclosed walkway.

Input received during the meetings will be used to prepare possible design options. The meetings will be held on June 17th. The first will be held at 11 AM in Room 203B of the Health and Human Services Building in Iowa City. The second meeting will be held at 6:30 PM at Coralville City Hall, in Coralville.
