Marion Police Conduct 500 Traffic Stops

MARION, Iowa (CBS 2/Fox 28) -- Marion police released the results of a traffic safety campaign they conducted Friday along Highway 13.

More than 500 vehicles were checked.  Officers made six arrests.  Three people were arrested for driver's license violations, two for Possession of a Controlled Substance and one for an outstanding warrant.

There were also three OWI contacts.  The Iowa Department of Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement Officers conducted safety inspections on 16 commercial vehicles.  Two drivers and one vehicle were taken out of service for safety violation.
