Bar Files Action Against Iowa City

IOWA CITY, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) A downtown bar has now filed civil action against Iowa City for its 21-Ordinance.
The Union Bar filed the action against the city council and City Manager, Tom Markus back on June 6.

This comes a month after Iowa City took away the bars ordinance exemption that it received received back in March. According to the Iowa City Press-Citizen, the city took away the exemption because Unions underage possession ratio exceeded the limit.

To receive an exemption to the ordinance, Iowa City bars must host at least 150 live performances a year. Right now, only five Iowa City bars currently have exemptions to the citys 21-and-up laws.
