Slight Risk of Severe Weather Today

There is a slight risk of severe weather today across the southern half of Iowa during the late afternoon and evening. Biggest threat will be large hail and damaging winds. An isolated tornado and flash flooding cannot be ruled out.

Flooding Causes Road Closures

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (CBS2/FOX28) Residents in Eastern Iowa are bracing for more spring flooding.
Right now, the Cedar River is at 13.16 feet in Cedar Rapids, flood stage is 12 feet.
The National Weather Service predicts the river could hit nearly 17 feet by Tuesday; that would make it the 23rd highest crest on record.
Those high water levels are already forcing some road closures in Cedar Rapids.
Right now, Otis road SE, Fish Court SW off Old River Rd. and Manhattan Park along Ellis are all closed due to flooding.
