Ball Fields Get More Funding

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (CBS2/FOX28) - Linn County is getting some money that will be going toward a planned sports complex.
A DOT commission unanimously approved Linn Countys application for a $1.3 million grant for Prospect Meadows.
The money will be used to build the entrances to ball fields, and a road that would connect them.
The total cost of the field will be nearly $10 million but Prospect Meadows Incorporated hopes the money will pay off.  Each year, they expect more than 60 thousand tourists will spend money in the area when they head to games.
Prospect Meadows will feature 17 ball fields, including a Miracle Field for players with special needs.
No word on when construction will begin.
