Last Day to Close on Flood Damaged Properties

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (CBS2/FOX28) Sunday night and Monday mornings flash flooding in Eastern Iowa brought back a lot of memories of the Floods of 2008.
While city crews work to clean up on Monday they're also being forced to focus on damage done back then.
The city of Cedar Rapids has until the end of the day today  (Monday) to close on remaining buy-out offers for several of those properties.
After the floods, the city offered buy outs to more than 1,300 homes and businesses.
In 2008, flood water destroyed more than 5,000 properties in Cedar Rapids and caused millions of dollars in damage.
