CR School District Approves Hours System

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- Cedar Rapids Community School District board members approved a plan to measure the upcoming school year in hours rather than days.
Previously, Iowa school districts were required to document 180 days of instruction, but now districts are allowed to report time in days or hours.
Cedar Rapids says reporting in hours allows the district to stay closer to the originally planned final day of school, regardless of snow days.
