Families Learn About Safety in Coralville

CORALVILLE, Iowa (CBS 2/Fox 28) -- Families in Johnson County received some helpful safety tips earlier today.

It was Safe Kids Emergency Medical Services Awareness Day.  The event was held at Coral Ridge Mall and intended to educate children 14 years of age and younger.

The fair included activities focused on sports and playground safety as well as seasonal topics like water and boat safety.

Those on hand also helped people learn how to properly install children's car seats, and also gave CPR and AED demonstrations.

The coalition includes partners from the Johnson County Emergency Medical Services Association, Mercy Iowa City, the University of Iowa Children's Hospital, and area law enforcement.
