Worker Falls Through UIHC Vent

IOWA CITY, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- Rescue crews worked for more than a half hour to pull a construction worker out of a ventilation shaft.  It happened just before 8:00am Friday at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
A crew with the Johnson County Ambulance Service lowered a ladder to begin administering first aid to the victim.  Meanwhile, firefighters worked to pull the worker out.  Officials say cranes working on the nearby children's hospital were not in a position to assist in the recovery.
Rescue teams instead tunneled through an interior wall on the hospital's 8th floor to get the worker out.
There's no word on the victim's condition, but authorities say they were conscious and responsive during the rescue.
