Three Arrested in Hy-Vee Forgery Case

IOWA CITY, IA - (CBS2/FOX28) Three women face forgery charges after they allegedly tried to pass fake payroll checks at an Iowa City Hy-Vee.

Police say over two days, 23-year-old Myosha Johnson, 25-year-old Ladasha Harrell, and 23-year-old Tashelle Campbell passed at least eight forged checks at the Hy-Vee on Waterfront Drive.

An exact amount isn't known but a criminal complaint says the forgeries could be worth thousands of dollars.

Store managers say the three women were using the store's bank when the incident occurred. They notified police after one of the women tried to cash a check for more than $900.

The managers say the three women were not employed by Hy-Vee.
