Inmate Pleads Not Guilty to Harassment

DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) - An inmate in eastern Iowa has pleaded not guilty to charges of prostitution, assault and harassment.

51-year-old Christopher H. Simms recently entered the plea in Dubuque District Court. Records do not list an attorney.

Simms is accused of offering money to an inmate at the Dubuque County Jail in exchange for a sexual act. Police say he also inappropriately touched another inmate, and made inappropriate comments to inmates in the shower.

Authorities say the alleged misconduct occurred between early February and early March.

In a separate case, Simms is accused of running a fake charity and using donations for personal use. He faces a charge of ongoing criminal conduct.
