The Planting Push

Cedar Rapids, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) - Iowa farmers are sitting in another stall pattern as wet weather is keeping them from planting.
Last week, they took advantage of the sunny days and planted nearly half of their corn crop and about 20% of their soybean crop.
The Department of Agriculture says the rain is good news for growth but it does keep farmers out of the fields at an important time.
Also on a positive note - a new survey says nearly three quarters of our soil has enough moisture for growing crops.
