Climate Change Debate Comes To Des Moines

Des Moines, IA  (CBS 2/FOX 28) - Earlier this week, we told you about a new report released from the White House that said climate change is here and dangerous.
The report warns that in the next few years, the U.S. will be hit with all kinds of odd, severe weather.
Now, we're learning that Des Moines has been chosen as one of four locations nation-wide to host the Presidents task force on climate preparedness and resilience.
The group is responsible for overhauling federal programs and finding money to address climate change-related disasters like droughts, wildfires, floods and storms.
One of the men on the task force is Des Moines mayor Frank Cownie.
Mayor Cownie will host meetings Tuesday and Wednesday.
