Economic Leaders Bring Fresh Ideas

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (CBS 2/Fox 28) -- Several local economic leaders are bringing back fresh ideas to the Corridor after a recent trip to meet with leaders in another major metropolitan area.

Members of the Iowa City Chamber of Commerce and the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance returned Tuesday nigh from Minnesota where they met with leaders from the Minneapolis and St. Paul area.  They were meeting to discuss ways to better work together to solve economic issues affecting the two cities that already work closely together.

Leaders hope they can put successful practices used in the Twin Cities into practice in the Corridor.  The leaders learned valuable lessons from the group in the Twin Cities on issues including fair housing, technology and education.
