U.S. House Pass Flood Bill
WASHINGTON, DC (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- Iowa lawmakers are celebrating a big step forward in the fight against flooding in Cedar Rapids.
The US House overwhelmingly passed the Water Resources Reform and Development Act today.
Only four people voted against the bill.
The legislation approves Corps of Engineers funding for improvements to ports, waterways, and projects tied to flood protection.
It would give Cedar Rapids more than $73 million for flood management.
The bill will now go to the Senate where it's expected to pass.
