CRPD Investigating Another Bank Robbery
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- Cedar Rapids Police confirm that an armed robbery took place at the Guaranty Bank on Bever Avenue today.
The suspect was wearing a white tank top and a cap.
Witnesses say they showed a handgun, demanded cash and ran from the scene. No one was injured in the robbery and it is not clear if any money was taken.
Area schools also had to be locked down because of the robbery.

This only adds to a growing list of bank robberies in Cedar Rapids since the end of April.
On April 28th, the U.S. Bank on Edgewood Road reported a robbery. Two days later, the U.S. Bank on 16th Avenue SW was also robbed.
On May 2nd, a robbery at the Hills Bank on Third Avenue resulted in the only arrest during the string of robberies.
Then on May 16th, a robbery was reported at the same Guaranty Bank robbed on Thursday.
The five bank robberies in Cedar Rapids during April and May is more than any total number of bank robberies in the city since 2009. That year there were also a total of five.
