North Liberty Receives Water Improvement Loan

NORTH LIBERTY, Iowa (CBS 2/Fox 28) -- Communities across Iowa, including North Liberty, are preparing to split more than $33 million in loans for planning and design to improve water quality.

29 cities will split the money which will come in the form of loans from the State Revolving Fund.  The fund is intended to be used as a low-cost financing option for cities to use for the first phase of project expenses.

Officials hope the money will help communities that are growing more rapidly than expected, such as North Liberty.

The State Revolving Fund has paid out more than $2 billion in construction loans since it was started nearly 40 years ago.
