"Dirty Jobs'" Mike Rowe Coming to CR

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (CBS 2/Fox 28) -- Mike Rowe, host of Discovery Channel's hit show "Dirty Jobs" is planning to speak in Cedar Rapids in June.

He will deliver the keynote speech at the Iowa Association of Business and Industry's Taking Care of Business Conference on June 11.

The event will also include a program about products made in Iowa moderated by Iowa Nice Guy Scott Siepker.

Rowe will speak about what needs to be done to address the skills gap in the U.S.  An estimated 600,000 manufacturing jobs go unfilled each year because employers cannot find skilled workers.

The conference will take place June 9-11.  Rowe will speak at 9 AM on June 11 at the Paramount Theatre, 123 3rd Ave SE.
