Weather Whiplash

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28)- Living in Iowa, we know that the weather can change in an instant.

We saw warm weather yesterday and woke up to downpours Sunday.

But despite the weather, many people were still shopping and not changing their plans.

The rain did not have any part of ruining my plans from coming out to Newbo, Zach Lindo said.  Its definitely a good change from seeing the sun every day.

Zach is from Los Angeles but was visiting family and friends.

But before he could leave, had to grab a cupcake from the Newbo market. I still had to get the cupcake, he said.

Zach said that rain or shine, he wasnt going to change his plan of grabbing a cupcake.

Cedar Rapids residents are hoping to the summer weather will return. But for now, the National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for the area until 6 AM Monday. About one to three inches of rain is expected through the evening with chances of snow flurries in the morning.
