Iowa Small Towns Receiving Money for Improvements

DES MOINES, Iowa (CBS 2/Fox 28) -- Some of Iowa's small towns are receiving money to improve their communities.

The state awarded more than $23 million to towns across Iowa.  Most of the funding will be used to improve water and sewer systems in the cities.

Some of the money will also be used for renovations to buildings.

The state received 136 applications and 70 towns will receive grants.
