Mother Arrested After Child Falls Out of Window

MANCHESTER, Iowa (CBS 2/Fox 28) -- A Manchester woman has been arrested after police say her 2-year-old child fell from an open second-floor window.

Stacy Neuhaus, 27, was arrested yesterday.  She has been charged with two counts of Child Endangerment.  One of the counts is a Class D Felony, the other is an Aggravated Misdemeanor.

The Class D Felony charge is for the child sustaining bodily injury.  The Aggravated Misdemeanor charge is for placing the other 4-year-old child at risk by her actions.

Police say she allowed the children to sit on the window sill.  The younger child fell when the screen was pushed out by the child.

The child was air lifted to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Neuhaus was also arrested by Manchester Police on Saturday after she became involved with an altercation with her mother.

She was arrested and charged with Second Degree Harassment and Public Intoxication.

Police say Neuhaus admitted to being under the influence of meth in prior days.
