DOT Officials in Washington

WASHINGTON, DC (CBS 2/Fox 28) -- Members of Iowa's Transportation Commission are on Capitol Hill in Washington today to meet with top lawmakers and other federal officials in an effort to discuss ways to improve Iowa's transportation infrastructure.

Members of the commission will talk about spending needs as well as changes in federal programs.  Another major topic that will be discussed is non-road modes of transportation such as rail and air.

The trip is only intended as a way to discuss issues.  Those involved will not be taking any direct action on issues.
