CR School Tops Best Schools List

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (CBS2/FOX28) - A Cedar Rapids school tops the list of best high schools in the state.
U.S. News & World Report put Cedar Rapids Kennedy at #1 on that list.

The news organization looked at enrollment, location, test results and advance classes.  Each school was then given a college readiness index score, but even with the high ranking, Kennedy staff say they still have work to do.

"We are going to continue to focus on helping all students, making sure our highest end students in the AP classes are getting the support that they need to be successful on the AP tests," said Jason Kline, CR Kennedy Principal.

"We are also going to be implementing an intervention lunch period next year to help all students who need help in classes or would like additional assistance in classes,"Kline added.

Kennedy was awarded a silver medal for being ranked among the top 750 schools in the nation.
