Giunta Gives Ribbon, Beret to Kennedy

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- Cedar Rapids Kennedy High School has received an honor from someone who's received the nation's biggest honor.

Sal Giunta is a 2003 Kennedy alum and received the Medal of Honor in 2010 for saving the lives of some of his squad members in Afghanistan in 2007.

During the school's Senior Recognition Night, Giunta surprised the school by giving it the ribbon to the medal as well as the beret he wore during the medal ceremony at the White House.

Kennedy principle Jason Kline says Giunta's act not only means a lot to the school, but to the city of Cedar Rapids.
